About Jacob
Born and raised in West Central Ohio, I know the value and the tremendous sense of accomplishment derived from a hard day’s work. A graduate of Ohio State University and Capital University Law School, I spent several years working in and around government, helping to simplify the complex web of regulations on small businesses as well as solve some of the challenges in workforce and economic development. Through these experiences, I witnessed firsthand the challenges facing leaders in business and government, particularly in finding and retaining qualified talent as well as regulatory compliance.
Driven by a determination to address these pressing issues, I transitioned to the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation in 2014. Collaborating with state officials, I was a champion for streamlining workforce and education programs, tailoring them to the specific needs of Ohio's small businesses.
As my family grew, so did our desire to raise our children back home in West Central Ohio, in order to instill in them the same values we had growing up. We found our way back to New Bremen, where I transitioned to the education sector, serving as an administrator for a community college, helping to lead multiple departments and advise on education policy affecting area workforce development. From there, my leadership took a big step forward, as I transitioned into a true human resources role at a local human services and workforce development agency. Over the years, as any department was in need of leadership, I graciously accepted the challenge, and my role grew to lead legal compliance, information technology, adult protective services, and even advising on various facility matters. Today, I work in the private sector, applying my knowledge and leadership to the exciting industry of Generative AI.
In my community, I am proud to serve on the New Bremen Village Council. Leading the charge as chair of the finance committee, I work hand-in-hand with our fiscal officer and mayor to ensure fiscal responsibility while advocating for the needs of our community. In 2020, my peers on Council elected me to serve as the Village Council President. Wanting to lend my leadership at the state level, I was also recruited to run for the Ohio House of Representatives in 2022.
I continue to reside in New Bremen, with my wife, Maria, and our three daughters. Together, we are active parishioners with Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
